In a bizarre turn of events at the airport, a traveler was nabbed by a CBP (Canine Border Patrol) beagle for carrying illicit food and was subsequently deported after kicking the dog ‘off the ground’. Yes, you read that right – this traveler decided to take matters into his own hands when confronted by a furry, four-legged law enforcement officer.
The incident took place at JFK Airport in New York, where the unsuspecting traveler, identified as John Doe, was stopped by CBP officers after the beagle, named Buster, sniffed out a suspicious package in his luggage. Upon inspection, it was revealed that John Doe was trying to smuggle in a stash of contraband fruits and vegetables from his trip abroad.
But instead of accepting his fate and facing the consequences of his actions, John Doe reportedly became irate and decided to take matters into his own hands. Witnesses say he kicked Buster ‘off the ground’, sending the poor pup tumbling through the air before landing with a thud.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes,” said one onlooker. “It was like something out of a cartoon, except this was real life. The nerve of this guy to kick a CBP beagle!”
As a result of his actions, John Doe was promptly deported back to his home country and is now facing charges of assault on a federal officer. Buster, on the other hand, was treated for minor injuries and is said to be recovering well.
In a statement released by CBP, a spokesperson condemned John Doe’s actions, stating, “We take the safety and well-being of our K-9 officers very seriously. Any attempt to harm or interfere with our canine partners will not be tolerated.”
As for John Doe, he has since issued a public apology, stating, “I deeply regret my actions and the harm I caused to Buster. I promise to never kick a dog ‘off the ground’ ever again.”
So remember, folks – when traveling, always obey the rules and never underestimate the power of a CBP beagle. And whatever you do, don’t kick them ‘off the ground’!
