In a heartwarming and tear-jerking moment at the NBA Draft, South Sudan native Khaman Maluach had a truly emotional reaction after being selected by the Rockets. The 6’9″ forward, known for his fierce defense and deadly three-point shot, couldn’t contain his emotions as he realized his dream of playing in the NBA was finally coming true.
As Maluach’s name was called by the commissioner, he immediately burst into tears and hugged his family and friends in the audience. “I can’t believe this is happening! I’m going to be playing for the Rockets! This is a dream come true!” Maluach exclaimed through tears.
Teammates and coaches from his college team, the South Sudan State University Sharks, were also on hand to show their support for Maluach. His passion for the game and his drive to succeed are exactly what we need on our team. We can’t wait to see what he brings to the court,” Thunderbolt said with a smile.
As Maluach wiped away his tears and composed himself, he thanked everyone who had supported him on his journey to the NBA. “I want to thank my family, my coaches, and all my teammates who have believed in me. I promise to give it my all and make South Sudan proud,” Maluach said, his voice filled with determination.
