Europe Dumps Trump for Hot New Relationship with China

In a shocking turn of events, Europe is considering deepening ties with China after being repeatedly rebuked by former US President Donald Trump. The European Union, still reeling from the verbal beatdowns they received from Trump, is now looking to cozy up to the East in hopes of finding a more understanding and less Twitter-happy ally.

One EU official, who wishes to remain anonymous, said, “After being on the receiving end of Trump’s Twitter tirades for so long, we’re ready to try a different approach. China may not be perfect, but at least they don’t insult us on social media on a daily basis.”

However, not everyone is on board with this new direction. French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed concerns about deepening ties with China, stating, “We must be cautious when dealing with a country that censors its own internet and has a less than stellar human rights record. Plus, I’m not sure I’m ready to start wearing those silk pajamas just yet.”

But German Chancellor Angela Merkel sees things differently, commenting, “China has been very supportive of our efforts to combat climate change, and they haven’t threatened to impose tariffs on our automobiles, so I say let’s give them a chance. Who knows, maybe we’ll even get a discount on some new high-speed trains.”

In response to Europe’s potential shift towards China, Trump himself couldn’t resist chiming in with his trademark bravado. “I always said Europe was weak, and now they’re running to China like a bunch of scared little puppies. Sad! If they want to make deals with China, they better get ready to pay bigly.”

As Europe continues to navigate its complex relationship with China, one thing is for certain – the days of being pushed around by Trump are over. Whether this new alliance will lead to prosperity or pandemonium remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure – Twitter just got a little quieter in Brussels.
