Kim Jong-un cuts tape at new North Korean tourist spot, but sorry foreigners, you’re still not invited!

In a surprising turn of events, North Korea’s Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un was spotted cutting the ceremonial tape at a newly opened coastal tourist site. The event was met with mixed reactions from the international community, with many wondering if this move was a sign of North Korea opening up to the outside world.

The site, located on the picturesque east coast of North Korea, boasts stunning views of the sea and is said to be a potential hotspot for foreign tourists. However, in true North Korean fashion, Kim made it clear that foreigners are not yet welcome at the site.

In a statement to the press, Kim declared, “We are pleased to announce the opening of this beautiful tourist site to our esteemed citizens. As for foreigners, well, they can wait a little longer. We need to make sure the site is fully operational before we welcome outsiders.”

When asked about the reasoning behind the delay in allowing foreigners to visit, Kim’s spokesperson, Kim Jong-fun (no relation), quipped, “We just want to make sure everything is perfect for our international guests. We wouldn’t want them to see any of our secrets, like the fact that we only have one functioning toilet at the site.”

Despite the lack of foreign visitors, local citizens were reportedly thrilled to have access to the new tourist spot. One enthusiastic citizen, Kim Jong-happy (no relation), exclaimed, “I can’t wait to bring my family here for a day of fun in the sun. Who needs foreign tourists when we have such a beautiful country to explore?”

As for the international community, reactions were mixed. Some saw Kim’s actions as a step in the right direction towards opening up North Korea, while others remained skeptical of the regime’s true intentions.

One foreign diplomat, who requested to remain anonymous, stated, “It’s great to see North Korea making efforts to attract tourists. However, until they allow outsiders to visit freely and without restrictions, we will remain cautious.”

Only time will tell if North Korea will fully embrace tourism from abroad. Until then, locals will continue to enjoy the coastal tourist site, and foreigners will have to wait for their chance to experience the beauty of North Korea’s coastline.
