In a shocking turn of events, New York City and Washington D.C. were both slammed by thunderstorms, leaving over 600,000 people without power. The severe weather wreaked havoc on the bustling cities, causing chaos and confusion among residents.
One New Yorker, Mary Smith, was quoted as saying, “I was just minding my own business, sipping on my latte, when suddenly the power went out! I couldn’t even finish my Instagram post before everything went dark. It was a true tragedy.”
Meanwhile, in Washington D.C., Mayor John Johnson was seen frantically trying to restore power to the city. “This is a national emergency! We must do everything in our power to get the lights back on and the Wi-Fi working again. Our nation’s capital cannot function without electricity!”

Mayor Johnson was quick to reassure residents that steps would be taken to prevent such a disaster from happening again. “We will be investing in state-of-the-art lightning rods and umbrellas for all city officials.
