Florida bomb squad blows up watermelon to show fireworks are deadly

In a shocking display of explosive power, the Florida bomb squad recently demonstrated the damage fireworks can inflict by using innocent watermelons as their unsuspecting victims.

The demonstration took place in a remote field outside of Orlando, where onlookers gathered to witness the destructive force of fireworks on the juicy fruit. As the bomb squad members lit the fuse and ran for cover, the watermelons were sent flying through the air in a spectacular display of destruction.

“I’ve never seen anything like it,” said bystander Bob Smith. “Those watermelons didn’t stand a chance against the power of those fireworks. It was like a fruit explosion!”

The bomb squad members were quick to emphasize the importance of safety when handling fireworks. “It’s important to handle fireworks with caution,” said Chief Explosives Officer John Johnson. “As you can see from our demonstration, they can cause serious damage if not handled properly.”

But not everyone was impressed with the demonstration. Local farmer Joe Jones, whose watermelon patch was used for the event, was less than thrilled with the destruction of his crop. “I can’t believe they blew up all my watermelons,” he lamented. “I was planning on selling those at the farmers market next week!”

Despite the controversy, the Florida bomb squad is already planning their next demonstration, this time using cantaloupes as their targets. “We’re always looking for new ways to educate the public on the dangers of fireworks,” said Chief Johnson. “And what better way to do that than by blowing up some melons?”

As the smoke cleared and the watermelon carnage was surveyed, one thing was clear – the Florida bomb squad knows how to make a splash with their explosive demonstrations. And who knows what fruit they’ll target next in their quest to educate and entertain the masses.
