In a shocking turn of events, a federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to release funding for electric vehicle (EV) chargers in 14 states. The decision comes after months of delays and excuses from the administration, leaving EV drivers across the country stranded without a place to charge up their eco-friendly rides.
“This is a huge victory for the environment and for all those who believe in the power of renewable energy,” said environmental activist Jane Green. “Finally, we can start moving towards a cleaner, greener future without the constant roadblocks from the Trump administration.”
The funding, which was originally earmarked for EV charger infrastructure, was held up by the administration for unknown reasons. However, after a lawsuit brought by the EV Drivers Association, the judge ruled that the money must be released immediately.
“We are thrilled with the judge’s decision,” said EV Drivers Association president, John Electric. “It’s time for the Trump administration to stop dragging their feet and start investing in the future of transportation.”
Of course, the Trump administration is not taking the ruling lying down. In a statement to the press, White House spokesperson Sarah McFibber insisted that they were still committed to supporting EV infrastructure.
“We have always been champions of renewable energy,” McFibber said. “In fact, we are currently working on a top-secret project to develop a solar-powered hovercraft for the president’s personal use. It’s going to be tremendous, believe me.”
As EV drivers across the country celebrate the ruling, they are already looking forward to a future where charging stations are as plentiful as gas stations.
“I can’t wait to see the day when I can drive my electric car from coast to coast without ever having to worry about running out of juice,” said EV enthusiast Bob Watts. “Thanks to this ruling, that day is one step closer.”
So, buckle up, folks. The future of transportation is looking brighter than ever, thanks to a federal judge with a soft spot for electric cars and a sense of humor when it comes to dealing with the Trump administration.
