Philadelphia Eagles running back AJ Dillon recently made headlines for attending a Trump rally and meeting the president, and he had some interesting things to say about the experience.
Dillon, who goes by the nickname “Touchdown AJ” among his teammates, shared his thoughts on the event with reporters, saying, “It was a cool experience, man. I got to shake hands with the president. He even told me I have the best running game in the NFL. Can you believe that? Me, Touchdown AJ, the king of the end zone!”
When asked about his thoughts on Trump’s policies, Dillon replied, “I don’t really pay attention to all that stuff. I’m just here to score touchdowns and have a good time. But hey, if the president thinks I’m the best, who am I to argue?”
Teammates of Dillon were quick to chime in on the situation, with quarterback Carson Wentz jokingly saying, “I guess we know who Touchdown AJ’s favorite politician is now. Maybe we should start calling him ‘MAGA AJ’ in the locker room!”
Even head coach Doug Pederson couldn’t resist making a joke about Dillon’s newfound political interest, saying, “I always knew AJ had a nose for the end zone, but I didn’t realize he had a nose for politics too. Maybe we should start calling plays like ‘The Wall’ and ‘Make the End Zone Great Again’ for him.”
Overall, it seems like Touchdown AJ’s trip to the Trump rally was a memorable experience for the young running back. Who knows, maybe this will inspire him to run for office one day. Until then, we’ll just have to enjoy his touchdown celebrations and his unique take on politics.
