In a shocking turn of events, the Los Angeles Dodgers have announced that they recently turned away ICE agents who were attempting to enter the grounds of Dodger Stadium. The agents reportedly showed up unannounced, claiming they were there to investigate potential immigration violations among the players and staff.
Dodgers spokesperson, Sandy Cheeks, released a statement saying, “We were surprised and confused by the presence of ICE agents at our stadium. We have no reason to believe that any of our players or staff are in violation of immigration laws, and we will not stand for any unwarranted intrusion into our organization.”
When asked for comment, one of the alleged ICE agents, Agent Smith, said, “We were just following up on a tip that some of the players may have overstayed their visas. We had no intention of causing any trouble, we just wanted to ensure that everyone was in compliance with the law.”
However, Dodgers outfielder, Mickey Mouse, had a different take on the situation. “I couldn’t believe it when I saw those ICE agents at the stadium. I mean, I may be a mouse, but I have all my paperwork in order. This is just ridiculous.”
The incident has sparked a wave of support for the Dodgers, with fans and fellow MLB teams rallying behind them. The New York Yankees even offered to send over their own security team to ensure the safety and privacy of the Dodgers.
In response to the outpouring of support, Dodgers manager, Spongebob Squarepants, declared, “We appreciate all the love and support from our fans and fellow teams. Rest assured, we will continue to focus on winning games and providing a safe and inclusive environment for all who enter Dodger Stadium.”
As for the ICE agents, they have since left the premises without incident. It remains to be seen if they will attempt to return in the future, but one thing is for certain – the Dodgers are not backing down when it comes to protecting their team and their values.
