In a shocking turn of events at the College World Series, Coastal Carolina’s head coach, Chuck “The Cannon” Johnson, was ejected in the first inning of a crucial matchup against their arch-rivals, the Flamingos of Flora University. The ejection came after Johnson vehemently argued a controversial call made by the umpire, claiming that the Flamingos’ mascot, Freddie the Flamingo, was distracting his players with his flamboyant dance moves.
“I couldn’t believe it,” said outfielder Bobby “Big Swing” Thompson. “Coach was really fired up about Freddie’s dance moves. He kept yelling, ‘That flamingo is a menace! He’s throwing off our mojo!'”
Johnson’s ejection sent shockwaves through the Coastal Carolina dugout, as the team scrambled to adjust their game plan without their fiery leader at the helm. Assistant coach, Sally “Slam Dunk” Jenkins, stepped in to take over coaching duties, but the damage had already been done.
“It was chaos out there,” said pitcher Randy “Rookie Arm” Rodriguez. “Coach Johnson’s ejection really threw us off our game. We were all just trying to figure out who was going to lead us in our pre-game chant of ‘Go Chants, Go!'”
Despite the setback, the Coastal Carolina players managed to rally and put up a valiant effort against the Flamingos. However, their efforts fell short as the Flamingos ultimately emerged victorious, much to the chagrin of the ejected coach.
In a post-game press conference, Johnson remained unapologetic about his ejection, doubling down on his criticism of Freddie the Flamingo.
“That bird is a menace to society,” Johnson declared. “I won’t rest until he’s banned from all college baseball games. Mark my words, Freddie, your days of distracting players with your fancy footwork are numbered!”
As the College World Series continues, one thing is for certain – the rivalry between Coastal Carolina and Flora University is hotter than ever, and fans can expect more drama and antics both on and off the field. Stay tuned for more updates as the tournament heats up!
