Boat BBQ at Cape Canaveral: Passengers Toasted, but Saved!

In a shocking turn of events, a boat off the coast of Cape Canaveral caught fire yesterday, causing panic among passengers on board. Thankfully, everyone was rescued in the nick of time, but not without a few hilarious mishaps along the way.

The boat, ominously named the “S.S. Hot Mess,” was cruising along peacefully when suddenly, flames erupted from the engine room. Passengers scrambled to grab life jackets and make their way to the lifeboats, with some even resorting to using inflatable pool toys as makeshift flotation devices.

One passenger, who wished to remain anonymous but we’ll call them Captain Crunch, described the chaotic scene with a touch of humor, saying, “I’ve never seen so many grown adults frantically searching for a way to save their margaritas before. It was like a comedy sketch gone horribly wrong.”

As the fire raged on, the Coast Guard swooped in to save the day, rescuing all passengers and crew members before the boat was engulfed in flames. One brave Coast Guard member, who goes by the nickname “Salty Pete,” joked, “I’ve seen my fair share of maritime disasters, but this one definitely takes the cake. Or should I say, takes the burnt toast?”

Despite the close call, passengers were in good spirits after being safely brought back to shore. One passenger, who we’ll call Sandy Cheeks, quipped, “Well, that was certainly a memorable way to end our vacation. Who knew a spontaneous barbecue at sea could be so exhilarating?”

In the aftermath of the incident, investigators are looking into what caused the fire on the “S.S. Hot Mess.” Some speculate it was a faulty engine, while others point fingers at a rogue seagull with a penchant for playing with matches.

Whatever the cause, one thing is for sure: the passengers of the “S.S. Hot Mess” will have a story to tell for years to come. And who knows, maybe they’ll even consider changing the name of their next boat to something a little less…flamboyant.
