In a shocking turn of events, the Trump administration has accused Harvard University of failing to protect Jewish students on campus. In response, they have threatened to cut all funding to the prestigious Ivy League school.
According to Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos, “Harvard has allowed a hostile environment to fester for Jewish students on campus. This is unacceptable and we will not stand for it. If they do not take immediate action to rectify this situation, we will have no choice but to pull all funding from the university.”
The allegations stem from a recent incident in which a student, who we will call “Billy Bob,” claimed he was denied entry to a Jewish student organization event because he was wearing a bacon t-shirt. “I just wanted to learn more about my Jewish heritage, but they wouldn’t let me in because of my shirt! It’s discrimination, plain and simple,” Billy Bob exclaimed.
In response to the accusations, Harvard President Lawrence Bacow issued a statement saying, “We take these allegations very seriously and are conducting a thorough investigation. We value diversity and inclusion on our campus and will not tolerate any form of discrimination.”
However, this is not the first time Harvard has come under fire for its treatment of Jewish students. In a leaked email, a member of the Harvard administration, who we will call “Professor McSnooty,” was quoted as saying, “Jewish students are just too sensitive. They need to toughen up and stop complaining about every little thing.”
As tensions continue to rise, it remains to be seen how Harvard will respond to the Trump administration’s threats. Will they make amends and protect their Jewish students, or will they risk losing funding from the government? Only time will tell.
