In a shocking turn of events, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has made a bold prediction that property values in the Sunshine State will “skyrocket” if the Democratic socialist nominee from New York City wins the upcoming election.
In a recent press conference, DeSantis declared, “If this Dem socialist from NYC gets elected, Florida is going to be the hottest real estate market in the country. People are going to be flocking here faster than you can say ‘tax hike’.”
When asked for further clarification on his statement, DeSantis continued, “Just imagine all those New Yorkers fleeing the socialist policies of their city and coming to Florida to enjoy our sunshine and low taxes. It’s going to be a real estate boom like you’ve never seen before.”
However, not everyone is convinced by DeSantis’ prediction. One real estate expert, who wished to remain anonymous, scoffed at the idea, stating, “This is just typical political grandstanding. Property values are influenced by a multitude of factors, not just who happens to be in office. I wouldn’t put too much stock in DeSantis’ claims.”
But DeSantis remains undeterred, going so far as to suggest that Florida may even need to build more housing to accommodate the influx of new residents. “We might have to start building up instead of out,” he mused. “Maybe we can even convince those New Yorkers to trade in their cramped apartments for a spacious Florida mansion.”
In response to DeSantis’ comments, the Democratic socialist nominee from NYC issued a statement saying, “I’m flattered that my potential election is causing such a stir in Florida. But let’s be real, property values are not going to magically skyrocket just because I’m in office. Maybe DeSantis should focus on more pressing issues facing his state.”
