Suburban Man Somehow Shocked That Killing Cop is Illegal

In a shocking turn of events, a Philadelphia jury has convicted suburban man, John Smith, of killing Temple University officer, Officer Johnson, in a case that has left the entire city reeling. Smith, a mild-mannered accountant from the suburbs, was found guilty of the crime after a lengthy trial that included testimony from witnesses, DNA evidence, and a particularly incriminating selfie that Smith took at the crime scene.

During the trial, Smith’s defense attorney, Bob Johnson (no relation to Officer Johnson), tried to argue that his client was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. However, the prosecution presented a mountain of evidence linking Smith to the crime, including a bloody knife found in his car and a series of text messages in which Smith bragged about “taking out the trash.”

In a particularly bizarre twist, Smith took the stand in his own defense and attempted to argue that he was actually a time-traveling alien sent from the future to prevent a global catastrophe. When asked to provide evidence of his outlandish claim, Smith produced a crumpled piece of paper with the words “I AM FROM THE FUTURE” written in crayon.

Despite his best efforts, Smith was found guilty on all charges and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. In a statement following the verdict, Officer Johnson’s widow, Mrs. Johnson, expressed relief that justice had been served.

“I always knew that John Smith was a shady character,” Mrs. Johnson said. “I mean, who takes a selfie at a crime scene? It’s like he wanted to get caught. But now that he’s behind bars, I can finally start to heal.”

As for Smith, he remains defiant in the face of his conviction. In a letter from prison, he wrote, “I may be locked up, but my spirit is free. And mark my words, one day I will escape this prison and prove to the world that I am indeed a time-traveling alien sent to save humanity.”

Only time will tell if Smith’s grandiose claims hold any weight, but for now, the city of Philadelphia can rest easy knowing that justice has been served in the case of the suburban man who killed a Temple University officer.
