In a shocking turn of events, Hillary Clinton has announced her support for scandal-scarred frontrunner, Andrew Cuomo, in the NYC mayoral race. The former Secretary of State has thrown her weight behind Cuomo, despite his laundry list of controversies and scandals.
In a press conference held outside of a Dunkin’ Donuts in Brooklyn, Clinton declared, “I believe in second chances, and Andrew Cuomo deserves a second chance to lead the great city of New York. Plus, he promised me a lifetime supply of donuts if he wins.”
When asked about the numerous allegations of sexual harassment against Cuomo, Clinton brushed them off, saying, “Oh, come on, who among us hasn’t accidentally groped a few people? It’s all just a big misunderstanding.”
Cuomo, who has been accused of everything from bullying to corruption, seemed thrilled to have Clinton’s endorsement. In a statement released on Twitter, he wrote, “I am honored to have the support of such a powerful and influential woman. Together, we will make NYC great again!”
The other candidates in the race were quick to respond to Clinton’s endorsement. Fake name candidate, Bob Dole, tweeted, “I guess if you want to win in politics, all you need is a famous last name and a lot of scandals. Maybe I should change my name to Bush Clinton and see how that works out.”
Fake name candidate, Sarah Palin, chimed in as well, saying, “I don’t know about you folks, but I’d rather have a moose as mayor than Andrew Cuomo. At least the moose won’t try to grab me inappropriately.”
With Clinton’s backing, Cuomo is sure to receive a boost in the polls. Whether or not his scandals will catch up to him remains to be seen, but one thing is for certain – this NYC mayoral race just got a whole lot more interesting.
